Egg freezing is the process of preserving a female’s eggs, or reproductive cells, to attempt conception at a later date.
Cryopreserved oocytes can remain preserved for several decades with minimal damage. The eggs are then frozen, and when the woman is ready to use them, she thaws them (after which they can be fertilized with sperm and babies can be transferred as embryos).
In several IVF clinics around the world, thousands of eggs have been frozen over recent years. The studies were all found to show that there is no increased risk of any abnormalities or birth defects in the born babies. This is all pretty comforting, and yet the jury’s still out — further down the road we go with egg freezing, we’ll discover more facts on its implications
Advantage:-
Oocyte freezing You freeze YOUR AGE. So you can thaw oocytes, do IVF and transfer embryos if say 45 years of age (the eggs will genetically be 30) Simply put, you are Freezing your Time or you are Freezing your Age.

Of all the human body’s cells, the egg is the biggest. Both sperm and embryos are actually quite simple to freeze. Egg has a large amount of water inside, and in the process of freezing, it can form crystal ice, which will lead to trauma for the cell. Newer techniques today, dehydrate the cell, then freeze preventing crystal ice form from forming. The technique is known as Vitrification, which can be used to cryopreserve eggs (or oocytes—technical term). The only process Babybloom Fertility uses is vitrification for all their egg freezing cycles.
Egg freezing is a newer process, having only gained more widespread use after 2012 (at which point less than 5% of clinics used the method), Vitrification earlier than that date. The success rate heavily depends on the age of the woman at the freezing procedure. This number would change, we would only anticipate being able to retrieve 85% or more eggs frozen.
Your success rates being over 35 is a whole lot less than someone who is 20 or in their early 30s.
The first procedure of oocyte cryopreservation in any IVF clinic or Hospital is quite similar to that of an IVF cycle. A woman is stimulated hormonally through injections so that she produces eggs more than a few inside her ovaries. The only difference, however, lies in the fact that these eggs are then not subjected to the IVF or ICSI program. They are directly submitted for vitrification.
The entire process typically lasts about 2 weeks from day 1 of the cycle. The month leading up to that would be comprised of blood tests and sonograms. After this stimulation the doses of drugs are established. Following 10-11 days after administering those medicines, the process during which the needle is injected under anesthesia and eggs are obtained through a painless 15-minute minor surgery
The costs are towards the following parameters:
Minimum basic fertility testing to assess the status of ovaries and hormonal values.
They range from INR 90,000 to INR 150,000 depending upon the age of the individual, the number of eggs retrieved, and hormonal values. In Babybloom, this cost reduces if you make several Egg Pick Up attempts to freeze your eggs.
Fertility drugs: Fertility drugs are still similar to the hormones present in our body, but with a higher dosage. These can lead to temporary water retention and discomfort or abdominal pain due to the increased size of ovaries. Other minor symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, bloating, etc.
Hyperstimulation: Under the prevailing drug regimens and stimulation protocols, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome is nearly impossible to develop.Complications due to surgery: Rarest of all, a surgery egg pick-up procedure may puncture and damage any organ inside the body causing internal bleeding or infection.
Chances of Pregnancy: Chances of having good quality eggs after thawing, chances of forming good embryos after fertilization with IVF, chances of getting pregnant, and chances of miscarriage-all will depend mainly on the quality of eggs at freezing time and age of the woman. If the embryologist or the Lab is not updated about egg freezing, results can come in very severe danger. We freeze the eggs of patients and donors at Babybloom. We started the service in 2015 and have frozen more than 1000 oocytes and recovered successfully 90%+ eggs after thawing. Arguably, we have the highest success rate and experience in Gurgaon, Rohtak and India.
